The Loop & Weft LRC1130 Henley Tee is built on the same rare Wakayama loopwheel jersey as the crewneck, produced on one of roughly 200 original old-style machines still running anywhere in the world at approximately one-twentieth the speed of modern knitting equipment. The slow, tensionless process preserves the inherent softness of the thick cotton yarn, producing a jersey that is denser, more elastic, and richer in texture than anything a modern machine can yield from the same raw material, and one that only improves with continued wear. The 1960s military henley silhouette is the starting point, with a double-stitched woven fabric placket and cat's eye buttons anchoring the front. The neckline is a vintage-style jacquard knit rib, knitted one collar at a time on a specialized machine with the same ornate, geometric character that defines Loop & Weft's collar work. Wide ribbed cuffs, 4-needle flatseam construction on a Union Special 36200, and a regular fit with enough room to layer or wear on its own complete a shirt that rewards the kind of attention it took to make.
